Image size reducer: compress PNG, JPG and WebP online
Reduce the file size of any image without changing its format. Compress photos for email, uploads and faster websites, and see exactly how much space you saved. Images are processed in your browser and never uploaded. This tool is free, with no limit.
How to compress an image
- Open Compress Image in the second tool bar above.
- Add your images.
- Lower the quality or set a Max width, press Compress, and download.
Tips for the smallest files
For photos, 70 to 80 percent quality usually looks the same at a fraction of the size. Set Max width to 1920 pixels for websites. Choose WebP output for the smallest result, since PNG is lossless and shrinks mainly by resizing.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I reduce an image?
Photos often shrink by 60 to 90 percent. Screenshots and graphics save less as PNG, so try WebP or a smaller width.
Why did my PNG not get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so re-saving it saves little. If a file is already as small as it can get, the tool keeps your original instead of making it bigger.
Does compressing reduce quality?
Lossy formats like JPG and WebP lose a little detail at lower quality settings. Keep quality above 70 percent to avoid visible changes.
